Higher travel allowances from 1 June 2025!
New rates of compensation for the use of a private motor vehicle
From 1 June 2025, employees will be able to claim higher travel allowances for the use of a motor vehicle for business trips!
The Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family of the Slovak Republic has announced new rates of basic reimbursement per kilometre for employee’s private motor vehicle being driven for business trips, which will apply from 1 June 2025.
Basic rates of reimbursement per kilometre of travel
The increased rates reflect the rising costs of vehicle operation, such as maintenance, insurance and depreciation:
- EUR 0.085 for two-wheelers, three-wheelers and quads
- EUR 0.296 for passenger vehicles
Surcharge for trailer use
If a trailer is attached to an ATV or a passenger vehicle, the basic compensation shall be increased by 15%. This increase takes into account the additional costs associated with the use of the trailer during the business trip.
The basic compensation per kilometre for lorries, buses and tractors being driven shall be agreed in writing between the employer and the employee.
The increase in basic compensation rates is the result of automatic indexation once the condition for an increase is met for the month of March 2025.
