TPA Bratislava OPEN 2025
The restart of the tradition continues
After last year’s successful restart of the traditional TPA Open Badminton Tournament in Slovakia, it was clear that we must carry on. And since the interest of our colleagues was huge, we held the sports day in two towns – Bratislava and, for the first time, Košice!
Tournament in Bratislava
In Bratislava, we played in the Tennis Club Slávia STU premises, where 10 mixed pairs – from TPA Slovakia, and TPA Czech Republic – competed. The atmosphere was great as always – relaxed, friendly, but also very competitive in some matches. Players on the courts chased the shuttlecock, they and the fans sitting on the benches sweated, and there were some dramatic exchanges and laughter at “unplanned smashes”.
Our skilful colleagues from the Back Office took care of everything – from registration, recording the results, refreshment, prizes, to chocolate medals for those who didn’t quite make it on the court, but definitely contributed to the fun.
After the tournament, we all had a dinner together, where we caught up on all the conversations we didn’t have time for between sets and continued having fun together until late.
Tournament in Košice
While in Bratislava it was a competition for every point, the Košice tournament had more of a team-building character. The tournament took place in the Tennis Complex in a friendly atmosphere among colleagues from eastern Slovakia. They managed to form 9 teams plus one 1 substitute who won the award for the greatest showman at the end, despite just sitting on the bench the whole time.
The tournament was a pleasant change to the working week for many, while for some it was the sporting performance of the year, and for all it was a chance to spend time together in a different way – away from emails and meetings.
Thanks to everyone who got involved – players, organizers and fans alike. It was great, lively, human and just the way we like it at TPA. We are already looking forward to next year!
